Doing a quick little post here...

Went on a trip around Colorado with my parents. It was pretty fun. Listened to XM Comedy most of the trip so I've been into listening to comedy a bit more lately like Jim Gaffigan, Patton Oswalt, etc. Some funny stuff.

Going into the studio tomorrow to record my first album with the new band (Awaiting Daybreak). Not really "new" but we have a new singer and a different style, so I guess it kinda is. Got new drum heads to put on tomorrow, so I hope that works out.

Geek post alert.

Anyone geeky that knows me probably knows my not-so-great track record with keeping my web sites consistent. I get a cool web site and then some people join and I decide that I should use a different CMS or something.

Anyway, I'm sick of not having anything to do with ShtuffNET so I've decided that I'll put my love for screwing with Linux aside and use my server as a reliable host for ShtuffNET. I'm planning on keeping it a geek/random blog and I'm planning on adding a nice BB when I get the money again. I have another computer now that I can use for screwing with other operating systems so I think ShtuffNET is pretty safe.

If anyone wants to read and help build the community (or maybe write some articles) go ahead and check it out. Let me know if you want to help post some geeky/random articles.

Soo...It's snowing.

Well today it rained for the first time this year. That's pretty exciting because not only did it rain, it was a thunderstorm. Hell yeah.

I just woke up and I have a headache that's killing me so once that goes away maybe I can make a better post.

Couldn't really sleep and I seem to always not feel that great on Christmas, so I'm up at 7AM posting on LiveJournal, but it's still Christmas and it snowed last night. Yay snow. I'm excited to go to my parents and watch them open their gifts from each other. They got each other laptops and neither one knows it so I find it funny.

Anyway, Merry Christmas and such!

So I was searching Google for some stuff and I found my journal come up and realized that some of my posts really should be friends only, due to the fact that just about anyone can view my job status and stuff, so I decided to make my LJ friends only. I found a web page online that will do it for you, but it crashed about half way through. So the first 2 1/2 years of my journal are pretty much friends only now, which kinda sucks because it's the recent stuff that I really care about, so I just went through and marked some of my more recent posts about work and stuff friends-only. I'll probably end up going back to my '02 stuff and un-friends-only-ing it (??) but until then my LJ is kinda funky...Anyway, now that I've explained that situation to myself, I can move on.

Lots of snow this year, which makes me happy. Probably the most snow here that I've ever seen, which makes me happy considering that I wasn't very optimistic about this winter because we didn't have any snow until late November or so.

Christmas is technically only 2 days away. w00t. My bro Riley is out until tomorrow night so I'm excited to spend some time with him. We're supposed to go to breakfast in the morning, which means I should probably go to bed (Almost 4:00AM).

Anyway, just a quick weird post there.

I'm a bit depressed right now. Mostly because of my money situation. Gwen moving in should definitely help that. It's just a temporary issue.

I've realized something about depression. So many people are depressed about little things that don't matter. Arguments too. Sometime Megs and I will get into arguments about where we are going to go eat dinner. It's stupid. What is this one little thing in comparison to life? Why worry about it? I remember the arguments, but I don't remember where we ate or what we had for dinner. It's like that. Don't focus on the depression, just enjoy life.

I find it hard to type things like "enjoy life" when I'm feeling depressed myself, but I'm really not depressed that often. I'm usually only depressed about things that affect my life for the worse in the long run. Small stuff doesn't usually depress me.

Depressed about money. Happy about Gwen and the eventual coolness of my new "lounge" room in the house.

So much more I could update about: Friends, house stuff and more; I'll wait until later.

To think it's already been two years since I was in DarkSide doing a show at the park...to think that in December it will have been 2 years since Brad left on his mission is crazy. In my honest (somewhat professional) opinion, I think we had potential. We blended together. We all admit that Brad could improve his vocals, but none of us would step up.

So it's been almost two years since DarkSide existed. Consequently, it's been almost two years since I've really been involved in music at all. Until recently, anyway.

I'm currently in a band that I love playing with. It's a side project of the members of Innocence Lost. Aaron, Steffan, BJ and Junior + Brandon and I. The downside is that we only jam every 2 or 3 weeks on Sunday. So 1-2 jam sessions a month doesn't get us very far. BJ says that things will pick up a bit next month. You know if I had my way I would jam every day. I don't think Aaron would mind that much either, but his wife probably would.

We have two songs right now that we're working on. Aaron and Junior haven't heard the last one because they missed out on the last jam session.

Hopefully in another 2 years I can post about how well the band is doing, but we'll see.

Well, the cell phone post I tried to make last night didn't go through, so I guess I'll type it up again. How about THAT for updating.

Anyway, so I moved back to nights starting today. Yay for not getting up at 5 in the morning every day. There's a few cons but not really too big of a deal I suppose.

No need for me to tell you I haven't updated for awhile.

It's kind of hard to write updates now, mostly because I forget to, and by the time I remember to write an entry, I have a crapload of stuff to post and I usually can't fit it all in.

Moral of this post: I'm gonna try to post more. That way, I don't have to make HUGE posts that nobody wants to read that still won't fit everything I need.
